Not to forget, easy to hose out... I really don't think she'd go for it, although the big advantage as far as I'm concerned would be that I wouldn't be able to hear her complaining/criticizing/screaming

Many years ago my mate and me were thinking about getting an outfit and having a go at sidecar racing. Then we watched a race at Snetterton where the marshals dropped the ball - there was a crash just after the hairpin but the marshals didn't stop the race, and while they were dithering we could see one outfit after another screaming out of the hairpin and crashing into the growing pile. I never heard if anyone got seriously hurt but the outfit idea kind of got dropped.

Crazy Dutchmen incoming!
Ojj4mwioEGs

Amazing to see it finally driving. They've been scratching about while they waited for the farmer who owns the field next door to harvest his peas but the moment has arrived. It's down a couple of cylinders but, considering it was a lump of rust when they started, it's not too bad. And they have a spare engine or two lying about...

Looks like an old T55, which date from the mid 1950's

Completely outclassed I suspect. Well spotted sir, it's actually a Chinese copy of a T55.

It's not exactly quiet either, so there's no point in moving it at night 'cos stealthy it aint. The Iraqi's also stuffed a box around the exhaust outlet and ran 2 steel pipes to the front of the tank in an attempt to throw off IR detection, I'll bet that made driving them even more of a "pleasure".

One "feature" of this engine is valves have no stem seals on them, apparently a cloud of smoke while the engine's cold is normal (que?) When they were first running it Master Milo's tank was run on thin oil (running in, please choke?) but they reckon the right oil they have in it now will sort things out. The exhaust is still full of oil though. And unburnt diesel of course.

and today i have mostly been... Fitting an electric fuel pump to the Yamaha. The latest theory is the OE vacuum-powered one is kerplunked, leaking fuel into the l/h cylinder where it gets the vacuum. It seems fine to me though, not that I have any test gear more sophisticated than my gob. And now I need to road test it, but I'm kind of reluctant as the temperatures head into the 30's and there's always the chance I'll end up having to push it wearing jacket, trousers and boots.

Not today anyway, it's been blowing a gale (4 toms on the deck :( ), dark skies, followed by a light sprinkling of rain  At least the temperature's dropped, from a club-over-the-head 34 to a more life-friendly 19. Hopefully tomorrow morning will be the moment.

Hills is what I need, but where we are it's flat. Last time I tried balancing the carbs and it was fine on the flat, so I decided to try going up towards Plešivica. And then had the joy of a 425cc single all the way home
