Starting my apprenticeship Monday...

Post by Bailes1992 »

I have been for several interviews, aptitude tests and what not before but until now it hasen't sunk in.
Yesterday I had to go have my health and saftey briefing along with collection of my uniform.
Then today my Dad marched me out to get me a new rucksack and an alarm clock.
Safe to say it's fully sunk in now :| I've had two months off, and put on 2 stone in weight  I can't see that two stone being around much longer
Had a great summer though, Gaydon being the obvious highlight of my holiday

Now it's time to get on with saving up for my 406

wish me luck guys :)

Vaguely remember my first day, getting up 2 hours before your body clock believed was physically possible and stumbling into the world of heavy engineering like a lamb to the slaughter......

Hope you enjoy it.

they'll probably just send him down the stores for a "long weight" :o

all the best young maaan :cheesy:

i remember my first day as a "trainee technician apprentice", that day just went on forever... i spent my first 6 months with a guy who could do the job in his sleep and made it look ridiculously easy so i paid very little attention and learned precisely bugger all. then i got sent out on my own...

Vaguelly remember my medical, I was a keen cyclist with a resting heart rate of 35, weighed 3 stone less than I do now.

'Read the lowest row of letters on the board', bored medic said. 'Curry & Paxton Ltd', replied smug, 16 year-old Doggy.

God, I'm getting old. :(

Good luck sam, i think you are fairly well safe from the worst of the beatings sorry initiation now, the company you are going to has been through the mill a bit in reference to the mistreatment of younger workers, allegedly  so you shouldnt see or feel too many pranks.

head down and graft mate thats my advice its a good trade with plenty of chance to specialize once you get the first set of qualifications under your belt.

Remember to stay safe buddy, sites are dangerous places to the newbies.

Cheers guys, sure I'l be fine. Goto meet someone at 6.30am though for a lift upto Bleanavon
Went for a good blast today around the back roads of the Gower, opened Betsy up a little bit for a change, few nice overtakes etc. Used half a tank of fuel in 150 miles though

Then I thought I better go find this place where I have to meet a guy in the morning, well theres a long bit of country road going from Bridgend to St.Athans, about 13miles long. There was a fecking bike race! Took me an hour to do 13miles as I kept having to fecking ovetake, slow down, overtake, slow back down  I was almost tempted to go a 'Disco'

Must say guys...

What a stretch of road!

Hope all goes well!

It's what you wanted to do after you didn't have your heart in the last course. Good luck!

I'm picturing that scene in the Inbetweeners, where Will does his work experience in a garage and they throw him into the pond
