From memory, the camshaft locking pin hole is at 1 or 2 o clock, the crankshaft locking pin hole is in a similar position to the XUD engines.

Thanks jasper,

ive found the locking hole for the cam but the hole in the sprocket apears to be squarish :?
im still looking for the hole for the crankshaft icarnt find the fecking thing,

some Monkey as thrown a new timing belt on this thing and not tensioned the belt correctly Belt is flapping about all over & rubbing on the belt covers,
hence trying to find the locking points to replace it before it lets go, :(

a chap at a local garage just told me iwouid be ok to re-tension it and leave it on but ithink its best took off and flung
not worth the gamble idont think or is it?

I've got access to the Citroen repair manual but it just gives pictures & codes for the locking pins, no dimensions or anything useful like that. Btw the cam locking pin looks more like a tube :? The crank locking pin goes in the flywheel, it says nothing about removing the starter motor.I've no time now so I'll post the pic later (I'm supposed to be getting ready to go for more tests, oh joy of joys :( )

No worries at all, you saved me a job & the Autodata one is actually more detailed than the Citroen.
