Standard Kit in a 406 2.0 GLX 97P

Post by leestudd30 »

Been googling stuff but can anyone tell me this. What kind of stereo is likely to be fitted? I know its a long shot but would it have come with xenon headlamps? Was air con standard on this spec or is it likley to be an elec sunroof? Less electronics the less to go wrong lol. It has has factory 16" alloys, can anyone tell me the factory tyre size? Cheers

If you're asking, you'll probably want to replace it.

No

AC, I think so. Climate control I'm not sure. Think the sunroof was an option across the range, not standard on any

16" alloys were only standard on coupés, I don't think they were an option on early saloons or estates making your wheels a later modification. Could be wrong though
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Cheers for that! Yeah I will be changing the stereo but just not straight away. I was unsure about the air con, I think Parkers said it was optional up to a point and then standard instead of a sunroof, looking at the pictures of it now I don't think it has a sunroof. The ad says alloys and steels in the description so I'm not sure at all, assuming they are 15" alloys what size would the tyres be?

To expand a bit more on that:

195/65 or 205/60 x 15 on 15ins wheels

Coupes have 215/55 x 16 on 16ins wheels, but most saloons & estates which were fitted with 16s had 205/55 x 16s. However, my estate has a set of coupe wheels with 215/55s on & they've been fine. Just a bit of a squeeze getting a hand in to wash out the wheelarches. May replace with 225/50s when the time comes.
