Door Draught Excluder
Theres been a number of eeriewigs in my shed, scary looking buggers, i think they are getting through the gap between the door at the front, is there some screw on seal that can be put around the door that stop bugs getting in.

Re: Door Draught Excluder
it would pull away quickly though, some letterboxes have a brush on the top and bottom to keep out the draft, would there be a longer version of that for a door.
Re: Door Draught Excluder
I assume you want a seal on all sides of the door, not just the bottom?

I have some on the front door here so I'd imagine you can get it. 10 seconds googling later here you go http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/210819
Edit: if you up the links there's all sorts, and that's just Wickes.

Doesn't help you but ... Aussies have these things:
http://www.bunnings.com.au/products_pro ... _2273.aspx
spring loaded so it lifts when you open the door, but closes tight thanks to a little cam on the door frame when you shut it. Superb idea, so good I actually brought one all the way back with me taped to the kids buggy.

Looks cheap enough
Ah, this is the country where everything is out to kill you with a toxic nip of some sort. I think I'd prefer the earwigs...

How too kill Bugs!
get 2 bowls, one has to be bigger than the other.
put small bowl in middle of the big bowl,
put candle in small bowl, fill big bowl with water, half way,
light candle,
you will find that the water will end up with loads of drowned bugs in it,

Re: Door Draught Excluder
i heard something about veg oil and a cup they fall into but that sounds good.
the problem here is the shed is in front of a plum tree which seems to have
more of the buggers on that side ive pulled the wood in the corner out and sealed it up and along the roof edge its sealed with expanding foam.
just the floor to sort there is lots of gaps my da said to leave it as it was to air the shed out but its probably where they are getting in from
and i seen a cockroach or something similarly large outside on the concrete standing on it was an option but i lifted the hens to it and they had a nice snack.

Morning Farmer!
I don't think you're supposed to step on cockroaches because their eggs get spread that way, giving you even more of them.
You could cut a 200 x 75 (brick-sized) hole at low-level and another on the opposite side at high-level to give you some cross-ventilation and air changes. If you're charging batteries and stuff you should have ventilation anyway. To stop creepy-crawlies then affix some fine mesh to the openings, 'trapped' in a wooden batten frame or something.

Re: Door Draught Excluder
i got some of that white powder for killing ants, it works for all bugs, put it round all the entrances, and edges of the sheds, some went over an earwig and it just stopped it there and then.
Ive got most of the floor down now just the edge against the wall to finish

Re: Door Draught Excluder
You can feel it but it's not painful or anything.
A wee burdy wouldn't stay long with you going in and out, I'd think there are mice already and they're far more likely to carry diseases, fleas and ticks than earwigs or birds.
