It slid about 2 feet before the tyres gripped again and I fish tailed up the road narrowly avoiding a couple of parked cars

snap, I took the C5 this morning as im still waiting for some bearings to be delivered from the uk so the wife is taking the landy the 2 km a day to here work, was quite funny watching my 5 foot wife trying to get the screen cleared on a lifted disco on big tyres, i just hit the defrost button on the C5 and waited whilst sat in my heated seats for everything to clear, she wasnt too happy with me as i drove offsteve_earwig wrote:It was -4 here this morning, suddenly all the leaves have fallen off the trees

Wouldn't imagine that would do any good, as it will still use gears 1 and 2, just not use top gear. When i've used autos in the winter, the snow button makes it pull off in a higher gear, 2nd or 3rd I think. Makes for less torque at the wheels, therfore less chance of spinning.sirwiggum wrote:Stocked up on de-icer.
Dreading it, as this year we live on a housing development on a hill.
How does one drive an automatic in snow? Leave it in '2' ?
