They do seem to be rarer in the saloon and estate than in the coupé. Judging by those numbers I'd suspect there were less than 800 that weren't coupés. Even less in just england.

Only 10 SRis - & 3 of those have appeared on Ebay in the past 12 months. Do wish I'd bought one of them & got the bits fixed now - reckon that would be a dead cert for a potential classic in years to come with that sort of rarity.

Are you sure there was a 2.2HDi SRi? I don't think there was, I'm thinking that's a mix-up of stats with the petrol 2.2 towards the end :?

There was. It's a proper rare breed too. Doesn't show up on Wisebuyers, What Car etc. but there have been 3 of them sold on Ebay in the past year. Put the reg number of one into confused.com when it was for sale & it shows up as SRi HDi (136).

Think they may have been special order vehicles because I also saw a V6 SRi not so long ago that was apparently a special order for one of Peugeot UKs top execs.

Is there any problem areas with the 2.2 apart from the FAP? I was initially put off it because i thought they gave fuel pump trouble but that was the old 2.1 td

FAP, DMF, over boost problem due to air leaks in air hoses or the diaphrams in the various electronic valves that deal with the boost pressure - I have that issue with my 2.2 at the moment. Some people complain about electrical issues like the BSi etc. Like all modern common rail diesels high pressure pumps can fail etc. The cambelt change is an expensive job so make sure its been done. I am going to have to do mine in the new year - not looking forward to it.

The FAP is easy and cheap ish to deal with. Cost me 4 hours and £22 to defap my car properly - and to remap it aswell as removing the cat internals - well worth doing as it transforms the performance of these engines.

I am sure when doggy comes on or one of the other veteren 2.2 HDi owners can give you more detailed info on what to look out for.

Apart from the FAP & the more complex vacuum system / variable geometry turbo, there's little else different about a 2.2, compared to Frank's 110 exec. The DMF & clutch are bigger, but cost about the same. Timing belt is to all intents & purposes the same job.

On the plus side, they're smoother, quieter & quicker, (particularly with 180 bhp remap).

2.2's are definitely thirstier and a band higher for road tax, but I wouldn't swap.

Coupe is showing up as around 1300, but there is the possibility the ones I listed "may" be coupe's due to listing inaccurancies

Think there are a few GLXs too - the red one in Southampton a little while ago was advertised as a GLX & pretty sure it was right as it had the 4 dial dash whereas the GTX has 5.
