Post by lozz »

Screen wash ran out the other week,
so istopped at Halfrauds,
got a small container of screen wash Lemon scented,

shocked when they asked for £5

well anyways iwont be paying that again,

At the £1 shops theyre doing screenwash tablets, 1 tab makes 1 gallon,
ijust add a cap full of vodka to every gallon made, + a drop of concentrated lemon from tescos 48p

just an idea if anyone else uses alot of screenwash

tabs are also available on ebay, :arrowd:

I usually use 2x Tesco 2.5 litre own brand concentrate (not the 5-litre pre-mixed!!!) then put 5 litres of water on top... works better than anything else I've tried
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I've actually put them shots :cheesy: into the washer resivoir but your right they are a rip off for all that comes in them.

But most shops are doing the big bottles of blue liquid at this time of the year i put that in, i keep some in all the time, for i noticed the resivoir got all green mossy shite in it from stagnant water it stunk like hell when the washers went, thats the problem with just using water on its own.

They are always a last resort for me........ when I've exhausted all other avenues, and I MUST have the part today no matter what, then I'll consider giving them a go.

Luckily for me they've usually got f*ck all in stock, so I get to find out that they want 3 times the price for the part, but its not in stock, so I'll have to wait for 3 days. By which time I've ordered it elsewhere

ihad to buy some from halfrauds as lorrys on the motorway sprayed oily gritty shite all over my screen,
went to sqoosh some water and it was empty,

petrol stations seem to have stopped leaving water for people to use or the machines that vend it are broke,
last resort is buy some of there ready mixed Drain water or go halfaurds for some £5 stuff :(

drive about with shite all over the screen unable to see a thing ,
or buy some pre-mixed to save the hastle so you can carry on with the journey

ibet loads of people forget to refil the screen wash and get cut short, especialy this time of year,
but are they mad enough to drive with a screen they carnt see through

but its basics
if you going any distance you check all the fluids, tyres lights etc and if any are low you top it up.
you have to be going a long way to get through all that screen wash.

with the 406 having so many annoying sensors and messages on the mfd couldn't it have got a sensor in the washer tank to let you know its running low?
