Hi All,
i have a loan car at the moment for my wifes car. It is one of these dinky little C2s but it has been interesting to drive it.
On my 406 (110 estate) I am getting 62mpg on the airport run and 58-60mpg on the school run. This is a biggish estate car that is reasonably comfortable, reasonably quiet and cruising at 56-60mph is doing 1700rpm or so (hopefully turbo off boost).
This C2 is tiny (actually only has 4 seats) with virtually zero boot space. Split gate like a range rover. Only on the school run but it is doing 68-70mpg at 56mph (awful digital display) but doing roughly 2000rpm. Noisy as hell and frankly quite uncomfortable.
406 cost me £800 - just done all brake parts, exhaust,PAS rack,MOT for £400 all in. C2 is about £8-9000 used. The 406 has yet to make me miss work and I have just got (for free!) some snow socks so bring on the winter - would love to find the cash to change the condenser to have AC in the summer...
Just thought I would share it with you - the 406 is a old car now but the economy is pretty good even against the modern tiny diesels...
