Hi Des, welcome to the club. Firstly let me just remind you that the "Caps Lock" key has two states - "On" and "Off" :)

What year is your 406? Is it a petrol or a diesel model?

Also, if you love to show it off, we'd love to see photos!

Cheers
Graeme

Hi des, welcome aboard. If its the 2.0 petrol turbo you have, look after it well. These will be getting rare as time goes on. They really are a great car, comfortable with decent handling. One of the best value for money cars around.
Take care of it and it'll look after you.
98, Executive turbo estate in aluminum silver. The stealth wagon! Now departed, New project Xsara VTR-8 in progress, Next Project, 406 D8 / JAP. So will be looking for a 406 again when the xsara is done!

Well you say that, but a certain Administrative member on here was found to have run his 2.0T in excess of 40,000 miles without an oil change.......but with no problems

Kept standard, they're a lazy long-living engine but tuning them requires careful thought and safeguards in fact in takes a huge amount of time and money to squeeze just another 50bhp from them and it won't be reliable without beefed-up cooling, injectors, head gasket, turbo refurb............
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work

At least I didn't try to give it more powah... that would have probably been insta-death  I did run it up to the rev limiter 20 minutes before it was scrapped though, probably for the first time in its life. Almost daily occurrence now with the V6
