Quite tempted...

Post by Captain Jack »

To look at this. Looks mint and very low mileage... a rarity nowadays.

Also this but a little expensive for the age....

I wouldn't bother with the coupe. Very overpriced & I have seen the coupe guys talking about it. Steering wheel looks very shiny for the mileage, passenger mirror cover is taped on & one of them phoned about it & the seller was properly ignorant.

If you fancy a coupe, I have seen a couple of low mileage HDi coupes popping up a bit cheaper than that.

As far as the GTX goes, not too sure. The Hoggars look good & that's definitely a retrofit leather interior as it's the old smooth style & not the ribbed - although I have to admit I prefer the smooth leather. If it hasn't had the wiring bodged, I reckon that GTX looks good. Don't think of it as expensive for the year, but more like a good price for the miles.

Has something happened to your Exec that has you looking elsewhere?

Nope, mine is still smoking its way up and down the M5 (the motorway that is, not the BMW....)

My mum is looking for a car, so I've been browsing for something for her sub 4k mark and these just happened to pop up :)

As Stu says, that coupe's been up for sale for ages - maybe a year now.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

A year?! Must be a real lemon..... I noticed the passenger seat has some plastic shroud missing at the bottom in the 2nd pic.

How can you have such cheap cars, I envy you. That one looks mint and extremely low mileage for the money. I've never seen a 406 with that mileage less than 4500£ here. And those were 1.8 and 2.0 petrol.

That is D8 leahter? I thought swapping D8 and D9 leahter interiors was pretty difficult?
