Perfectly understandable with xmas just around the corner, after all how do you get hold of essentials when nearly everywhere's shut for ages!

(e.g. our local Asda will miss a whole 6 hours of trading since xmas falls on Sunday).

Iknow what you mean but:

it was panic buying people are clearing off shelves, mental
even the staff at stores are getting arogant, perhaps they are rushed off there feet but its all part of there job,

Hopefully it's improved now but I was thinking about it when I lived in Blighty and everyone said don't buy fruit and veg because you get all the stuff that's been sat on the shelves being squeezed for a few days. I also had a veggy mate that was ordering stuff off Sainsbury's and when they didn't have the veggy stuff they sent her non-veggy stuff instead

No real crazyness here, we did a big shop of stuff we were likely to run out of on Tuesday and there wasn't that many more people than normal.

Just got back from the screaming madness that was Asda, (Mrs Doggy has to do it in person).

Result: they've run out of loads of stuff & can't restock cos the place is full of Lemmings, which means a backlog of trucks outside that can't get unloaded etc etc etc.........

Got the presents done early after the snow last year didn't want to get caught in the madness.

Then got online delivery. Best not getting fresh fruit and veg online, good point. Will get them from the local Spar/Mace.
Got some frozen veg.
Even the fresh meats they give you ones with not great dates, but I just fire them in the chest freezer and defrost them when I want to cook them. Sausages get put into little freezer bags of 2, and the bacon is vacuum packed until the end of January.

Last year though, the local shops were like Dunkirk!
The world doesn't end til this time next year!
