Windows password,

Post by lozz »

Hi all,
My son as Bought a pc off Amazon, on the listing it sounded brilliant, and they offerd 12mths warranty,
but after Recieving it this morning seems this seller is a Scammer,

Theres no 19" monitor,
the mains cable as been chopped and taped up,
and you carnt use it as its Password ed

weve contacted the Seller, and shes coming across all arogant, saying theres no monitor, and we dont know the password
ive give her until tomorow to sort it or shes going to need wooden curtains

is there anyway of getting past the windows password ?
idont think this pc was hers to sell somethings not right. :?

lozz there is a way round it.
probably re-format the hard drive. your gonna need a windows xp or 7 disk for this
go into bios and select boot from cd drive as option 1... then re-install windows
its very easy

how old is the pc ? because some new pcs there is no way round the password protection

if it came via amazon - even as a 3rd party seller, then there should be distance selling reg's that if you wherent happy then you are entitled to send it back!

how did you pay for it? if it was via credit card then you can claim that way.

hope the police sort it and you get your cash back.

I think you'll find its called evidence, and they can take it if they like. It may help them get these dodgy bastards in prison, fingers crossed for you.

Really feel for you on this one. I think it's a lesson to us all on the dangers of the internet. But you would think you'r safe with Amazon, but obviously not.
I supose it can not do much harm to contact the police and ask if they have any idea of how long they want to keep your computer?
