I bought a similar b&q type of compressor and then treated myself to a windy gun,in theory the compressors cfm rating should have worked the windy gun but it couldn't keep up and the gun couldn't undo jack.Took the gun back to the supplier and got the wheel brace back out! :(

theres lot of diffrent types but the best advice is buy big,as once you have one you will findlots of users and when your drill, angle grinder packs up you will buy air tools.things to note
noise
so location and next door to worry about
air tank
you can manage on a 50liter but 100 would be better
power
these can take a lot of power so make sure your electrics are up to it
machine mart is a good place to start looking

A 50 litre will do at a pinch but make sure it's got more power than you need or it'll be running all the time every time you do anything. I also find the air ratchets don't like working on the end of a long pipe. Also beware of buying anything too old, they do collect water and rust from the inside-out, so could look great but might actually be a bomb

There are range guides over on Machine Mart which might help you work out what you're looking at - http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/range ... irmaster-2 & http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/range ... 14F8D7456F

Cheers steve,

ive found someone selling an old Clarke compressor,
its been used for spraying cars, so it might be good enough for windy gun,

will try it and see,

thanks .
