Hi I am new to this forum, my 406 hdi is lossing a lot of water, it has slowly got worse, I'm now having to rePlace a good 1 and half litres after 50 miles, the only noticeable leak is on the aircon condenser, could the condenser be the cause of so much water loss ? There is no water in the oil at all,
Any advice would be great
Thanks

Welcome to the club smithy!
You definitely won't get water loss from the aircon condensor as it should only contain refrigerant!!!!!
The most common leak points are the bottom hose where it enters the rad; the push connector rusts to hell. Also around the thermostat housing is worth checking. And of course a hole in the rad!

Re: Water leak
Also check the water pump (urgently) as if that has started to leak, then it's definitely on its way out (which, needless to say, can have disastrous effects on your engine). If you go ahead and replace the pump, then replace the cambelt and its associated tensioner kit at the same time. Don't mean to spook you, but if you have a coolant leak, you need to trace it quickly and try not to use the car too much until you find it.teamster1975 wrote:Welcome to the club smithy!![]()

The bottom hose and a possible hole in the radiator are much more likely though
