Fault Code,what does it mean??

Post by paulm »

The airbag light is on in my car so i had a diagnostic machine on it today to see if we could clear it and it came up with the following fault code P0802,according to the fault list on here it says Transmission control system mil request/open and on the diagnostic machine it said Level of driver module trigger open 2,can anyone explain this in plain english!! lol.Regarding the airbag light i found a broken cable down the side of the drivers seat which i've repaired and expected the light to go off with the use of the diagnostic machine. Also it has the dreaded Com2000 fault with the indicator switch could this have anything to do with the airbag light being on?I'm steadily working my way through its problems now,put a new crank pulley and auxillary belt tensioners on it today as well.

It's possible changing your Com2000 will help, as I think you have to disconnect / reconnect the steering wheel airbag - check out steve earwig's Howto in the knowledge base.

Having said that, the most common airbag fault problem seems to be the seatbelt pretensioner connectors under the front seats, (Least mine is).

I agree with doggy, 1 month ago, my airg bag light some times started blinking and didn't stop until i stop the engine, after disconnecting and connecting the pre tensioners plugs under the seats the problem went away :D

Already looked at the seat connectors but i will have another look, does the airbag light go out on its own or do you have to have it switched off?

When I replaced my Com2000 the airbag light came on as the clip holding the airbag ECU cable in place in the centre console had snapped.
Removing the remnants of this clip made the airbag light go away.
Do you reckon it's already had a Com2000 replacement?

should go out by itself, if you eliminate the problem

PP2000 will normally tell you which circuit it's not happy with if you know anyone nearby who has one, (always helps to add your location).

Would you be prepared to plug it into my car and tell me what the fault is?
