Silly question

Post by scotty73 »

 Does anyone have a 2000 hdi 2.0 lx family estate i can test drive?

Not remapped, i'm reading of remapped cars with shagged out lower mounts (just like mine) and i'm wondering if mine has already been done... I have nothing to compare it to but i gave it a beasting this morning off a roundabout going up hill and within 150 yards i was knocking 80mph with plenty more under the hoof... Most of this hill was on a bend too... Dairees it's the hill coming off the Rhymney roundabout from your way and heading back to asda.

In fact thats an idea for a bit of fun we can test the hpi v the hdi on the same roundabout... once you get your n/s/r slippery tyre sorted.

Few weeks ago i hit 4000rpm in 2nd and 3rd with the wife in the car and she looked ready to jump out  .... Every now and then i give it a blow out but if i'm in the passenger seat with her driving the Welsh mountains i feel the urge for a beer she's mental.

Cracking driver but she scares me on times.

I mind once seeing the RUC (what is now PSNI) in a 406.

Looked something like this

Though for a while there they were having 406s used against them

I think this is a highly irresponsible suggestion.

All HDi's have nackered lower mounts. My 90bhp XUD and my HDi90 both had nackered lower mounts.
I changed all the mounts on the XUD and within 6 months it was back to square one!

I bought a new one on the assumption that mine would be knackered but it was, surprisingly, perfect.
