New car not 406

Just got myself a 04 vectra 2.0 diesel £870 done 134 k tidy car few scratches but drives like new

I think that looks like a good price to get something with those stats.

But why a Vectra? Not something German or a 407 or a newer 406?

On paper it's slower than your 2.1, but what does it feel like?

Are you bringing it to Gaydon? I want a look

I looked at these before I got my 406 but didn't like them because the windows in the doors are quite high up, so it's like sitting in a bucket. On the models I could afford at the time (2005), a £5k vectra was very plain inside compared to the 406.

I suppose the other obvious comparison is against a 407 1.6, but that's weedier than a HDi 90 so there's not much point.

Love that shape Vectra.
Was looking at 1.9CDTi 150 SRi XP's for myself when I bought my Mondeo.
Back in 2005 my father had a few Vectras 2x 150's and a V6 CDTi (From what I remember) and he had nothing but trouble with them (They were brand new).
In the end he ended up back with a Mondeo.

I wouldn't say it was slower than the 406 but it don't seem faster it drives superb no engine noise it's just so calm were as the 406 was loud something always knocking lol but it's a decent family car ye windows seem high but I always sat low in the pug anyway so looking at the door panel is nothing new it will be there Sunday so u can have a nose I'll try get some pics up in a min off me phone
