Hello ppl

Post by wasp »

Hey peeps,
Havnt been on here for a while since sellin my 06 around 6 mths ago.
hope everyones having fun!, i replaced my 406 with a 03 citreon c5 exclusive 2.0 hdi 110 diesel horses,estate...a familiar motor, with familiar gremlins ...just done solid flywheel conversion, as i did 6 years ago on the 4o6..i hope the car serves as well as the 406 did.Its got lots of toys..colour sat naV ( + my freeview box gives tv 68 channels, and an xbob screen for the kids when parked).. it must be poss to retro fit to a 406??? as other c5 models have the same mono screen and remote as the 406.. wish id tried it :) along with a working handbreak ! lol , heated leather elec seats, traction control, esp, folding mirrors, airbags x 8 loadsa space..boot is soo big, nice comfy suspension ..good if your not lewis hamilton.
annoying for other drivers - exeon lights ..ok i cant spell it but you know the ones i mean frekin annoying for other road users at night..ok its abit of an old mans car i know but im 46 next week! maybe ill get a tartan blanket for the parcel shelf 4 my b-day.To my surprise insurance lower than the 406 at group 9 instead of 12 saving around 60 quid..every little helps!.
One annoying thing tho.. there isnt an c5 owner club to speak of, nothing like as good as this site anyway... maybe sub-section group needed here? :) after all we are all psa-ites.

Well, if we can have a Volva section, why not a psa section?

Or why not a PSA forum and an "other cars" one? :(

Hey Wasp, motor's looking niiiice :cheesy: Keep the PSA faith

In the UK it seems like every car is a lower insurance group than a 406  Here it goes mainly on power output but it's all hideously expensive and almost worthless.

Hey steve, the 406 isnt the only car thats daft on insurance,

Fiat punto 1.9 is 5 pounds or so cheaper to insure than a 110 bhp 406
As for the insurance Groupings idont think its all worked out correctly its all rigged Me thinks

Looking good.

While I've been over here in the PSA Fatherland, I've been singularly unimpressed with most of the newer motors, smiling a little more toward 407's or maybe even a later C5 if I can get this or another 406 to last long enough for me to afford one.

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)

2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Looks pretty smart. Can we see inside? I'd like to see the toys.

Can you get a 2.2 HDi with a 6 speed box in them?

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

I believe you can, as someone else identified the ML6 'box from a 03/04 C5 as the only one with the same road speed sensor as a 406........
