Annual Joke From My Insurance Company

Post by gumby6371 »

Got back from taking the dog for a walk this morning to find my insurance renewal sitting on the mat.

Last year I took a bit of a hit as my car ticked over the 16 years old mark and quite a few insurers won't touch it anymore, ended up with Kwik Fit fully comp for £500 which included the extra for paying monthly.
This years renewal total price.....(Including another years no claims)......£911.45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After picking myself off the floor I went and compared and.......

£328 (£410 all in) for exactly the same level of cover with Octagon so I signed up there and then, that wasn't the cheapest but had windscreen, courtesy car and legal assist included the same as my current policy. If the bloody thing didn't fall on the 14th of Jan I'd have paid for a full year and saved another £80....I hate bloody Christmas!!!!

I rang Kwik Fit to say f*ck you and stick your renewal up your arse but unfortunately got a very pleasant young lady which completely took the wind out of my sails.
When she asked why I wasn't renewing I told her I had alternative cover for £500 less to which she said 'would you stay if I match it'. At this point I politely said no thanks and goodbye.
Just shows what a robbing bunch of bastards they are if they can knock £500 off on the spot.

I just pity those people who just let their insurance run and pay whatever they're told

They all seem to do that, bump the premium right up after the first year in the hope that you're too busy/disinterested/stupid to notice (not in Croatia of course, where they're a cartel and all charge the same unbelievably high premium) You all owe it to yourselves to shop around each year and, like Gumby, don't go back even if the monkey offers to match the price because they all bluddy do that too
