If your not a member there can you access my account etc??

If you are a member but not logged in can you access it ???

thanks to anyone that can be bothered to help in this, not bothered about the reg numbers being out there just wether the account can be accessed because of it

All forums tend to follow the same rules;

Limited, or no information if you are not a member.

If you are a member you are free to search another users posts but cannot access their "account" or user control panel (only an admin can do that).

Of course, if someone has a pretty good idea as to what your password may be then there's nothing to stop them logging in (as if it was yourself) so if that's a risk it would pay you to change the password to something complex (mine on here is very complex).

I hope that helps?

I accessed your profile and friends list without being a member, I imagine that isn't supposed to happen?

Yeah me too, I just tried to access another random Pug forum of which I'm not a member, and you can't view a users profile or even use the search facility, which is upsetting because when I worked at Halford's I was good at everything, unlike Welly who has never been good at anything.

I dunno really, I don't think I'd be entirely comfortable with it, then again the amount of info that's available about each and every one of us these days in mind boggling, so in real terms it's a drop in the ocean.
The first thing to do would be to contact the site owners and ask them if it's right that the information is being made freely available.

Be careful what you say on those forums?

I'm always mindful of what I say on here, I know the Forum is covered because the postings are the views of the members not the person who developed the Forum but the postings are YOUR postings. There's been plenty of cases now of people being prosecuted for what they've said on places like Facebook etc. (doesn't really apply here but you see what I mean?).

I believe potential employers have been partial to a nosy-around on networking sites and the like to try and see what you're really like :|

Your not even supposed to post links to pictures found on google images without posting an acknowledgement to the author, or rather "this is not my photo, I found it here.... etc etc" I believe internet users break all kinds of copyrights and think it's ok to.

Sometimes I post my thoughts and wish I hadn't; usually I will edit or delete but I think we should all be mindful of what we say and do. It always surprises me when people post sensitive information about accidents or claims on these forums. I didn't tell anyone about my FTO crash until the case was closed and in my favour.

Trem, open up Google images now and search "406oc trem1" I have and I can see your house and everything, I worry for a living but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable to see these things.

Remember when I was robbed at axe-point at work? that night I deleted any Photobucket picture that showed my Volvo (which 'they' saw) and in relation to my house, I'd recently had a picture of the car poking out of my garage so didn't want anyone putting two and two together - mind you it didn't help when the robber and I parted company with a menacing "I'll be watching you" but you can maybe see what I mean? it doesn't take long for strangers to quickly find out quite a lot about you without your knowledge.

Thanks for the replies (Welly you've got me paranoid now).
i do indeed remember your incident and it would have freaked me out.
You say you removed everything from photobucket after that, is that enough for this to disappear??

I did indeed google the images as you say and am quite surprised at how few there were, also to try and find out old info (on you sadly as you said you'd removed it), I googled your old username and 406oc and the 'panel' that was named after you has a picture on there of a 406 the same colour as yours, with the reg plate showing. You never actually had one did you so it must be someone else's reg

Just seen that, the 'X' reg one? wasn't mine mate.

Any images on photofucket you remove should disappear unless they are saved on another server like wiki or something.

Don't be worried, I just like to be very private that's all.
