Athletes Foot?
Back at the start of Winter last year I spent allot of time walking through a wet, boggy and muddy path. After 6 weeks of nagging and getting told "Your shoes should be waterproof" (which they were) and nagging the main contractor to put a gravel path down I finally got my wish.
Unfortunately 6 weeks of wet feet has taken it's tole.
The top left corner of my foot and in between my toes have all started to peel, burn, blister, bleed, itch, get infected and generally cause me discomfort.
I have tried a cream which you put on that you leave for 24 hours - No Joy.
I have tried a cream made by the same company as above from the doctor which you apply every day for a week - No Joy.
I've been using Schools althelets foot power which you apply after showering and you sprinkle on your socks for over a month - No Joy.
Can anyone suggest anything else? I'm going to try get another appointment for tomorrow evening because it's starting to seriously cause me discomfort.
I'm half tempted to go up to the main contractor and show them my feet! But maybe that would be a bit awkward.
I really am at a bit of a loss what to do about it now..

The powder stuff wont work,
Try some home Remedies, Athletes foot is a fungus, ive not had it my self but my son has,
idont think you wouid of got it by a Muddy path, perhaps if youve been to the Swimming baths you May have picked it up there perhaps ,
Apple cider vinegar will kill the fungus off, its stinks and may sting abit Mind
other thing to try is Tea tree, some shampoos have that in so just put some in a bowl of water and soak your feet in it,

Will have ago with the cider vinigar now! Have a bottle downstairs.
I can't see where else I would have got it from. I just think walking around for 6 weeks day in day out with wet feet has kicked it off.

It will sting like a biatch mate,
dont wear the same pair of shoes, if youve been using the same pair of trainers /shoes constantly put them outside in the frost,
you will never get rid of it if otherwise,
The fungus needs a Warm enviroment to spread, hence why its so easily picked up at the Swimming baths etc,

Re: Athletes Foot?
My work boots live in a cold shed at night so I think the fungus will be dead enough

Re: Athletes Foot?
Once you've got it it's near impossible to completely get rid,i've had it (mildly) on and off on both feet for over 30 years and have tried just about everthing to cure it,it gets worse when your feet get hot and as i wear steel toe cap boots all day at work my feet don't get a chance to breath properly.

Re: Athletes Foot?
Tried dipping my foot in apple cider vinegar for half an hour. Lozz when you said it would sting, I thought my foot was on fire! Jesus!
Had a shower and put some more powder on.
Still going to try get a doctors appointment tomorrow. Think it's Chavvy Mothers and Kids day though
May end up having to go down to out of hours, say I can't walk on the base of my foot and it's causing me serious discomfort.
Just scratched one of my toes so hard I broke the skin

Re: Athletes Foot?
I've heard of the pissing-on-it thing too, maybe it's something you and your girlfriend could try when your parents are out shopping?
probably best to stand in a shower cubical rather than on the lounge carpet though
Where's Puggy when we need him?
You could try having 2 or even 3 pairs of work boots and rotate their use through the week (your're not really supposed to wear the same pair of shoes two days running) this might help keep the inside of the boot dry. There's a foot spray that's supposed to stop your feet sweating made by scholl I think but I don't suppose you should spray it on broken skin at the moment. Socks are important and the ones in contact with your skin should have a high Cotton content (over 80% say) to help your feet breathe.
I don't have athletes foot but do have sweaty feet, made worse by wearing cheap shoes/trainers/pumps and for some reason my feet sweat more in the winter
My feet don't smell though, which is a bonus.
This has probably put some people off their breakfast
