Yes, it makes no sense does it? I don't know of any industry that uses Horse meat for anything? unless it goes in pet food I dunno?

My own theory is that these manufacturers get squeezed, really squeezed, by Supermarkets to produce their goods for a certain price; the temptation to cut corners therefore is great in my opinion.

Say if a Horse is put-down what would happen to its body? they are massive!

I have a fairly relaxed attitude to this kind of thing. I mean other nations eat horse, so where's the problem? We eat cows and sheep and pigs and deer and rabbits and chickens and ducks and fishies and, well most things really, so why not horse?

Of course I can appreciate that selling one thing as something else in any circumstance is misrepresentation and that's the bigger problem here IMO.

Ever eaten it? I guess it must depend on how old the horse was and what it was doing but I've eaten horse twice - one at a French transport cafe thing which was excellent, better than any beef burger I ever ate and once at a restaurant on the coast here, which was tasty but not as good as I was expecting after the first one. No, no-one in the UK eats horses because they're kept as pets (really?), do useful work carting the rich and stupid around when they want a change from the Range Rover and they (used to) do useful work, towing carts and ploughs (hold on, so did oxen and no-one seems to worry about eating those). Personally I reckon horses are large, stupid, unpredictable and, above all, dangerous and I wouldn't trust one to do anything for me unless I had a gun ready in case it suddenly went berserk. Ever seen how much damage they can do to a car? I have, they rode them a lot where I used to live and one decided to kick the side of a car in as it was passing, then the rider just disappeared off into the forest

I can understand the pork thing anyway.

Yeah ive tried horse meat mate,
it was very rough, Maybe it wasnt cooked long enough, dunno, iwouidnt try it again,
the dogs dont mind it tho, but a'spose theyve had plenty of it as pups,

Iwill try any meat other than pork, the pig is a filthy stinky thing, best off left where it is

other than that the thought of eating animals dont bother me, ieat a squirrel once there good eating,

I'm glad you said that as I totally agree, Horses are twats. They stink, they are stupidly expensive to keep and then as soon as they hurt a leg they're written off wtf?

I keep well away from Horses, they are not to be trusted.

As said, they are not eaten in the UK because we go all doe-eyed over them for some reason. The Italians and French eat Horse, it is quite expensive and regarded as a luxury I believe?
