Post by lozz »

What anight ive had, and my son aswell, poor bugger, :(

ihad a bad migraine around 7pm so isaid to the mrs, ifeel sick dizzy and weak im going having half hour in the dark,
25mins or so later, iheard all this screaming ,ive just woke up so my eyes are all blared and im not quite with it,

goes in the bathroom, and at first ithought iwas trippin, my sons face is all white Waxy ithought it was a mask, no

the mrs had been cooking in the kitchen, turned away for amin and he had grabbed the frying pan,
and got a face full of oil, spent 5mins of soaking him in water, and sped off to the A&e at that stage if iwouid of been stopped iwouid of got a few points
maybe a ban, moment of panick couidnt think of out else but get there quickly,

got to the A&e and was then told sorry we carnt deal with him he will have to go to the specialist burns hospital 35 miles away, if id of known iwouid of driven straight there, hour and 45mins later ambulance came and took the wife and son to the hospital,

oh and they turned round to me and said because of the nature of the injury we have no option but to report it to social services
ive done nothing wrong other than take 30mins sleep because iwas ill, wished ihadnt now,

wife said to me are you angry with me ? no reply to that but she will get one shortly

Bloody hell mate tht's terrible, I really hope he's ok. It's just sheer bad luck that you weren't fit for purpose at the time (I know just how that feels). Please don't take it out on your wife, I don't think it's going to be her fault because, no matter how much she needs them, she doesn't have eyes in the back of her head. Also, I can't help thinking that if a social worker comes to your house it'll look really bad if she has a black eye.

Ares, that's the level of paranoia when it comes to kids in the UK, my brother tells me all sorts of stuff like he can't give lifts to the neighbour's kids when he takes his son to school because he has no qualifications for looking after kids, they can't take a camera to the school play because they might be paedophiles, stuff like that. They're trying to wrap kids in cotton wool but it obviously isn't working, there are news reports of abused kids coming up all the time in the UK, kids that social services have let down because the social workers are swamped with all sorts of other petty investigations to actually do any real good.

Mate - its one of those unfortunate accidents. You could of been sat in the living room watching TV and it could of happened. You could even of been in the kitchen helping your wife.

No matter how much you tell a child not to do something, sometimes they have to do something to realise the implications of it. Unfortunately for your lad its quite a big set of implications that will stay with him for the rest of his life.

Hope you guys are ok though.

The social services thing is because they now what to cover their own arses about all the abuse they have missed out through the years and could of prevented even if it makes an innocent family look like really bad for what was all to all intense and purposes a genuine accident.

Bloody hell, I am so sorry to hear that Lozz! I hope he's ok - bless him!

I tell you, I went through similar in 2009, pregnant with twins took it out of me and I had chronic heartburn, cooking 2 babies 'n all.
I went to bed one day, leaving the Ex in charge of the children (all 3 of them).
Later that evening after a rest I got up. Noticed my heartburn tablets which were on the mantle were ALL gone. One of the lads were sick shortly after I noticed, completely life-less and this doughnut still didn't see the need to rush him into hospital. Had I had a full licence I would of shot off myself, problem being that not only the licence but his big fat stupid bus was blocking me (as always). Again - like you, it was reported to social services.

Stupid thing was, I should of learned from that but I didn't. A week later I again, absolutely drained from being pregnant, chronically ill and chronically anaemic I had no choice but to again retire to my bed. I woke to a lot of screaming, came downstairs and he was dragging out the little girl from behind the treadmill, who had at this point a mouthful of a new pack, new hidden pack of anti acid tablets.

I really hope your son is OK and please, try not to blame yourself for this, it was NOT your fault, we're all allowed to feel ill from time to time and you were not in charge at that given moment, if it helps - I signed you off sick
Bless you and your son

Lozz,he is young,he will be ok,hospitals in UK are very good,i belive everything is going to be ok.
Im telling you,i had a very nasty burn on my leg also, but i was young and today not even a small scar.

Steve,i do read some books of chap called david icke,i was aware of this abnormal social behavior...its madness.
Here in croatia socials are still more or less ok,but you can already see they are changing on worse.

When i was a kid,we used to play everywhere,i always helped my mom in the kitchen, accidents happen, person cant be vigilant all the time, kids are kids, but what this
social service people are doing is absolutely stupidity.

Lozz, once again, hope everything turns out good for you mate, hang on.

Lozz that's terrible news i hope your son's face recovers fully in time, they can do wonders now.
My eldest son was 18 months old when he scalded himself by pulling a cup of black coffee over himself which was on the back of the kitchen bench and there was 4 adults in the room myself included, we never found out how he did but he managed it.
He spent 2 weeks in Hospital and we were told he would be scarred for life but as the years went by the scarring faded ( his was shoulder and chest not face) untill you couldnt see them anymore until his mother,(my ex-wife by then) took him to Greece and the sun made his scars reappear.
Being his face you may have problems with sunlight from now on but hopefully not to much, keep us informed of his progress please mate and we'll all keep our fingers crossed that its not as bad as we all fear.

As for the missus that's entirely up to you, only you know how good/bad that is and if its worth saving

Sorry to hear this Lozz, you must put your efforts into your Son's care and not being angry about what happened (that can be dealt with later on).

He'll be in good hands and you must support him well, he'll most likely feel responsible for all this himself so needs to know you're ok with him.

ive been and spent a few hours with him,
Theyve bandaged his face, and applied skin grafts of which are made from pigs,.
theyre not staying in place just there like a plaster, weird but thats what theyve done,

he will be there a while, they wont let him home until the swelling goes down, as it can obstruct the airways
theyve got him on watch for that reason,

brilliant hospital, but as for the area its chaos, far worse than driving through london, ialmost had one chav stuck to the bonnet of the 306
they just dive off the footpaths and straight on to the road, madness :frown:

5quid for 2 hours parking, and they say the NHS is short of cash, :?

Sounds nasty mate how is he today?

I hate seeing my kids in the kitchen if I'm cooking it's far to small and i play hell if any of them come in, recently I've been doing something i don't normally do while cooking i been using the front two rings but that's because it's to painful to reach the back ones it plays hell with my back... I can see the danger in that I'm just glad my kids are older and listen when i say feck off outa here... if they were youngsters i think I'd have to let her do the cooking or starve..<<<<Those two options are quite similar. :supafrisk:

been and seen him , if anything he looks worse,
hes still on Morphine,
they was going to put a tube down his nose, but ive managed to get him to eat something so alls well there,
The hospital staff that where on today where abunch arogant sods,
isaid to them is it ok if ibring a hot meal in for the mrs, wished inever asked, (no hot food) not said nicely either
isaid right ok no need to shout is there

so iwent into the town and grabbed aload of butties from a shop, just short of 6 quid a throw

as soon as he seen them his appetite came back so, it was worth it,

told the mrs what ithought of her, and that the frying pan and everything else is going in the bin,
if she wants to then cook bacon and the like it will have to be grilled ,

im not going through all this again, so im putting my foot down if she dont like it she knows where the door is,

Damn right! Well said you!
In fairness, I have 5 young children that I parent single handedly - the 3 young girls live with their Father currently but every other weekend and half the holidays they live with me. When I am cooking - I am cooking, I don't leave the kitchen at all and yes, with 5 children around me it is difficult but not once have I had issues like you've sadly had to encounter.

I really hope that you're son is okay
