Halfords tool chests

Post by gumby6371 »

I was looking at the tool boxes in Halfords as I've had £35 worth of vouchers from my credit card, are they worth the money?

I need something big enough for a decent amount of tools but still be able to pick it up as it will be kept 20 yards from the drive as I have no garage.

They are OK I sh. Mate

Slightly flimsy,

I gave one to the scrap lads a bit back.

If you get one don't overload it

Thanks Lozz, I'll probably spend the vouchers on tools then.

There not too bad mate,

I'm pretty rough with tool boxes most of mine get overloaded
Or thrown about ..so in normal use they'd probly last well,

I got a big plastic chest awhile back its lasted well so far,

What I really need is a house with a flaming garage but I'm guessing a tool box would be the cheaper option.

I've picked up various sized Stanley plastic tool chests and have found them to be excellent. The ones I like have big soft rubber feet and corners that don't damage things to badly when they hit them.

I've got one of these bad boys in the back of my van.

http://www.stanleytools.co.uk/product/147620

I can actually get inside quite easy!

Had a couple of cheaper stanleys, but the handles where a bit weak and broke the top of the box.

This bad boy though is big, holds everything, impact gun in its box, my halfords pro tools and sprays, screwdrivers sets etc, with a smaller one of the my stanley top haves inside with spanners and other smaller loose tools inside. Also is very sturdy, gets used as a seat and is made of some pretty robust material! Holds a lot of weight too....
