How Much????????????

Post by ThePrisoner »

Just filled up my 406 executive today (full tank) for the first time since ive had it.

£60!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe how much fuel it can take......

Buying this car is gonna cost more than I thought, increase in road tax, increase in insurance, increase in fuel......yadda yadda

Still a beautiful motor though...

Pris. :cheesy:

yep that'll be about right
the first time i filled my 406 up when it got to £50 i started looking underneath to see if it was pouring out onto the forecourt :!:
i found it less painful to fill up between quater and half a tank cos it only cost about £40.00
still painful but not as bad

The fuel tank size is a stinger...but I get better consumption and £55 quid off my tax compared to my old Focus.

And the 406 is finer in every respect!

My friend has a W reg focus and he says the same, even though my car is 10 years old.

Never managed £70 in one go but I've been in the £60s a few times. Bearing in mind it's a 70 litre tank you boys must have been paying at least a pound a litre  . Eased into the petrol station once with the miles remaining indicator showing "----" and put 69 litres in it  would have lost that game of fuel light bingo me thinks :cheesy:

I chicken out when it says 30 miles>>>>> and fill up.

:?: Why are you all complaining about the cost of filling the tank @ £60.00

Dudes.......You are going to put the fuel in eventually anyway :!:

The last 'big fill' I did was £65.00 and that lasted me 5 weeks

If your a bit skint, just put £20.00 in or less

What model was that and how big's the tank? I could have sworn mine's 66 litres, but I've just done an interesting google search and found people claiming their 406's tank is anything - 60, 65, 66, 68, 70, 72, 78, even 91! So I'm no longer sure.

Anyone got a real answer? I know my fuel needle stops moving when I turn the ignition on/off at about 65 litres (to brim)...

It was a 406 estate 2001 HDi 90, the speel from Peugeot is that there is a 70 litre tank, 5 litre reserve and the size of the pipe to the tank about 3 litres, dont knof if the coupe of saloon is any different though

Now there's Dai with no guts, but 80 miles!! I don't know if that's bravery or stupidity!!

Myself, I have had the 206 go down to ---- and got it to the petrol station, so never more than a couple of miles.

No one will beat my missus in the Fuel Light Bingo

She's been running around on reserve for years.

Last week she said ''my car needs some bloody Diesel in it AGAIN''.......

Again? I said,.....how much did you put in it last time?............

£7.00, she said. :|
