Thanks rwb!

Post by Sonia406 »

Visited rwb on the way to Oxted yesterday (picking up the leather interior an beige trim) and he hooked Miss Pug back up to PP as mine still is causing me grief.
The EML that came on 2 weeks ago is thought to be a cooling fan issue... We've found out that the slow fan isn't working, yet the faster fan is (he told PP to run them)
Going to replace the relay, but possibly need a new wiring loom as Dave pointed out, there's a nick in one of the wires leading to it!

rwb also gave me some new clips for the grille.. :) Thanks rwb, my superstar!

And on other news: My brand new ''up to date maps'' sat nav, took us down the back road and proudly declared we'd reached our destination, where as - although perhaps we could almost see where we had to be, it was a back road with no entrance as to where we needed to be... Oh & the restaurant we tried to find last night via POI, didn't exist...

And on other news: Saw TWO MINT 406 estates last night, both automatics, both red, both on 52 plates. And I mean, absolutely MINT...

You won't need a new wiring loom because of a 'nick'.
Cut the nick out and solder it back together with a bit of heat shrink.

That's kinda the reason I used bullet point crimp on connections on the seat belt pretens - I can't solder!

I've got a soldering Iron (kinda looks like a gun) I just usually end up with clumps of solder on the wire... I did try, was going to solder in the seat belt pretens...

You need to get yourself some multicore solder ( it's pre fluxed 5 core usually ) just make sure there clean ish wires hold on you soldering iron untill you can melt the solder through the wire, ( so you hold the iron onto the wire on one side & fed the solder onto the other untill it run's through ). Make sure you tin the iron first & wipe it clean for a shiney finish on the soldering iron on a wet sponge, Like a scouring pad! & then re-tin before you start :cheesy:
Failing this look for a guide on you tube, to be fair I did this a school 28 years ago!
