Roland Garros 406?

Post by Sonia406 »

Have you ever seen a Roland Garros 406?

According to SB you can get the decals for the 406.... surely this means they made a RG 406? I've never seen one.. How many did they make?

I am sure a lot of us know what most of these are, but what are the additional ones... I've not seen these, so again, must be on rare as f*ck 406s.

Clearly, I am dangerous with SB.........

A quick google image search shows the roland garros models to be green with cream leather with a bit of green in the middle of the cream leather. Here is what wikipedia says

The French car manufacturer Peugeot commissioned a 'Roland Garros' limited edition version of its 205 model in celebration of the tennis tournament that bears his name. The model included special paint and leather interior. Due to the success of this special edition, Peugeot later created Roland Garros editions of its 106, 206, 207, 306 and 806 models.

I know that because, we had a 806 Roland Garros.
My question is this, wikipedia do not mention a RG 406, yet SB suggests there was one.......?

Pretty sure they did an SX or an LXS (last of the D8 LX with alloys & front fogs), but never seen an SLX.

That's exactly what I thought......

Never heard of an SLX either... maybe he's done my trick and added the S badge himself? That said, the one I looked at last week was S... so maybe this guy with an SLX had a bog standard LX (like me) and has upgraded the interior and trim and added the S to show that?

One of the guys on the french 406 site had one - IIRC it was green metallic, (like mine), with tan leather. 2.2 petrol, I think.

Looked very smart.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
