The Price of a new tax disk

Post by FarmerPug »

I just got the nice letter from the DVA, a new 1 year tax disk for the 406 now costs £140, when i bought it the disk cost £125, it seems to go up £5 each year, but as far as i can see the roads remain just as potholed.
Is this an age related thing, does the price go up as the car gets older or is this just rising with inflation?

Its just inflation id guess. :(

The roads are a mess over here - pot holes only get fixed/bodged
Once they've got sniff of a claim going in off someone with a bust sump/tyre/spring or whatever.

They shouid be wearing a mask-theyre nothing but theives imho. :frown:

I think its the late 02 regs and the 90bhp that falls into the cheap tax bracket -iirc.
I might be wrong tho.

Go to your local d.v.l.a office some one shouid sort it for you.
Or ring them up the phone call will cost you more than the price of the road tax mind
They take years to answer the phone.

Tbh, I'm not sure, I've only dealt with them with changing tax classes over from disabled to p.l.g
They're not to bad tho, they do there best to sort things there and then.

Normally its a 10-15min wait so take a newspaper with you,

Sorry mate I have no idea  , I didn't know yours was an auto, mines a 110 hdi 02 plate it's £140 a year now , was £135 last year :x .
When I was looking into it on direct gov .com all 110s from march 01 were £135.00 to tax but I wasn't looking at auto's, as for one I don't like them & two there not as ecconomical.

Have you checked that brim to brim as that's bloody good for an auto, I can't find anything wrong with mine It's well serviced has only 81k showing but on a 200 mile round trip at a very steady 60mph  ( if you know me  ) on the duel carriage way the car managed 50 mpg :frown:
The best I have managed yet is 785miles brim to brim using Shell v power, 70 litres =15.4 gals @ 4.546 litres to a gal, 785 divided by 15.4 gals = 50.97miles :supafrisk:
