New Renault parts

Post by plod »

My dad's Laguna II 1.9DCi had a fuel injection fault come up on the dash and went into limp mode.
Doubted I could do anything as thought it would be electronically elated.
However, took a look, and the throttle body has snapped in 2. Seems one of the 3 securing screws fell out, and the stress cracked it.

Plenty of second hand ones on the bay for £25-£30 ish
Sourced a new one for £50, and emailed the seller to confirm fitment, but it sold before he could answer. He said he had a delivery coming in 2 weeks.
Found the same part in Poland, for a smidge more, but that is a 2 week delivery.

Think me dad can wait, as I've bought parts for the 406 from the first place, and been next day delivery.
I've also tried GSF and Euro Car parts - any other sources for renault parts that I can see if I can get a part sooner??? obviously apart from stealer lol

Jasper - Nothing listed, but might be worth a phone call still :)

Lozz - was thinking with plastics going brittle over time, it would be better to get a new one for the sake of £25ish

The body has 2 mounts at the top, and one at the bottom. The bolt at the bottom has fell out, putting the stress all across the top, and split it right under the 2 mounts.
Was half tempted to buy some Q-Bond, and bond it back together, and see how it goes, but if it doesn't work, then i'll be there again, and I've spent the last 4/5 weekends round there fixing other stuff for them. Not begrudging that, just would be nice to have a free weekend soon
