Through the MOT This Week..

My car sailed through the MOT with just an advisory. A nail in a tyre that didn't leak
much, just a tiny seepage. MOT cost £50.

Costs this week...

Rear box and centre exhaust section.. £72
Had the local garage fit that £26.

After the MOT..

The nail in tyre turned out to be a screw. The hole it left was quite big.
I repaired it with one of those glue stick kits where you use an implement to push the
repair down into the hole. Repaired loads of punctures with this device in the past. This time,
though, I was unhappy about the size of the hole.

Decided to replace that tyre. While I was at it, replace another that had 3mm tread.
A journey to my part-worn tyre specialist.
2 x Michelin Energy Savers 6mm tread £50 fitted and balanced.
Put them on the front.
Feel well secure.

TOTAL COST : £198 for fresh new MOT, 2 new tyres, most of exhaust system renewed.
Feel rather chuffed right now. Seem to have achieved quite a lot for reasonable outlay.
