Flashing lights on expensive cars

Post by FarmerPug »

Is it just me or does the lights fitted to big fancy cars like range rovers, the X5, toe rags etc and other german saloons. It seems if one of these is driving behind on a bumpy road that the car is flashing its lights, do these cars have a levelling function that can't cope on bumpy roads? Its very irritating having one of these behind with the lights flickering and flashing.

No, they really are flashing you because the motherfeckers think that hocking themselves up to the eyeballs to buy an expensive car gives them the right to drive like cnuts.

Next question.

As above.

I notice that Audi have started making the indicator lights so small that they're effectively invisible.

I think it was on a Range Rover, the fairy lights were so bright that the indicator wasn't visible.

Or possibly because of the cost of their cars, they just think they own the road, and are flashing you to get out of their way?!
I have noticed it on the lanes I use, and when I look at the beam cutoff shining on the back of the car in front, it doesn't reach the height of rear windows, let alone mirrors. Thought I had was that because of low-profile tyres etc maybe they are just bouncing around on their too hard, or too soft, suspension?

The cars you mention probably all have HID projector lights. These implement low beams by using a movable cutoff, since you cannot turn HID bulbs on and off quickly like you can with halogens. So they're actually running their high beams all the time, with a bit of metal to stop them from blinding other people. When high beams are needed, the cutoff moves out of the way. This gives a very sharp cutoff, but combined with the increased brightness from HIDs, this can make them seem like they're flashing when you move from the cutoff zone into the low beam zone.

Add to this that HIDs are mandated by the EU to have a self-leveling system, which usually connects to the front suspension and moves with it, and you have a recipe for flashing lights on bumpy roads (which the UK seems to have a lot of).

Either that, or they are in fact flashing you because they're kunts and cannot possibly drive at anything less than full speed all the time. In which case, they will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.
