Newbie - Just saying Hi and got a Question Please

Hi my name is Gus,

recently I Purchased a 406 2.2Ltr HDI GTX (beautiful car and very happy with her)

i only have one problem and was hoping that somebody on the forum could help me out or point me in the right direction.

the Sat Nav disk is missing - and i havent got a clue where to start to get/purchase/borrow/backup and new one

help please

Welcome aboard :)

I'd say your best bet is Ebay. You could try the main dealers (known as stealers here) but they'll likely ask you to remortgage for the CD.

Yep that was my first thought but spoke to dealer and got the impression he was trying to fob me off with a load of flannel,

kept rattleing in about needing to see the car to decipher which chip set was installed and disk would in in the range of about £150 to £175 and that would depend if he could get one, think he not sure what he was taking about :evil:

Hi Gus and welcome! 8)

AFAIK the only sat nav system fitted as standard to the 406 is the Navteq, Seimens VDO system, the genuine article Map CDs can be found here for £108

But take a look on eblag, there are plenty of discs available! I could never condone such a thing :wink: but don't worry about getting a "backup" copy for around a tenner, they work fine! :lol:

just make sure you get the exact right one as there are a few different types

Thanks for the info fellas,

will have a look around Eblag for a "Backup" first and if no joy then will have to go with the £108 Quid job.
