Not sure, fluid is about £30-£40 a litre, 406's hold 5l, 307's hold 3, don't know about yours. Then you need PP2k to reset the counters.

The point is, it might be low on fluid, or the low level sensor may have failed, or several other possible faults, which means you could pay for this and still not solve the problem.

I recommend you check if you have a Bosch EDC15 ecu, (label on the side of the ecu) and if so, you have the option of removing the whole sorry mess.

That's jolly bad luck on a 110.

Certainly with the newer 16-valve HDis you do have to factor in a flywheel every 80 to 120k or so.

(I bought my 407 last October at 74k expecting it to need doing in 18 months or so, but it needs doing right now  )

Is any other marque any better?

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Both of my 2.2's had a new dmf, but only because the clutch in the first one was starting to slip at 160k+, the current one because the 6 speed box was going in. Neither showed any symptoms of failure, but were changed as a precaution. On 406's at least they don't see to be fragile.

True - the Bora is the car I really wanted, the boot is huge for a medium sized car, and its not a Golf..!!

:cheesy: :cheesy:

im gonna leave it standard i think lozz. i know a few people who own VW and have had theirs mapped and within a few months the clutch went :?
its pretty nippy as standard pulls well through all gears and is averaging 43mpg in town. most ive hit is 58mpg on a run upto blackpool which was all uphill too.

The boy racer's are leaving these alone now so there becoming a good car again...
