Early last year I posted on another Forum how I complained to HA about unadvertized roadworks and delays on M25. I always check their website for roadworks before using motorways. (Roadworks around Clackett Lane had been going on for some time, and still had some time to go. According to their website there were no roadworks in progress or projected. There were also roadworks, as usual, around Chertsey to Heathrow areas.) They actually asked me where the roadworks were exactly as they had no record of them!!!
Yesterday, using the A1(M) I saw a car that had stopped on the central reservation so stopped at one their SOS boxes to advise them. After an unacceptable wait for them to pick up the phone at their end, I hung up, drove to the next junction and phoned Police direct.
So to recap, they have no idea where they are doing roadworks on the M25 and don't answer SOS phone calls either. Another inept Govt Dept.

That was really good of you to stop like that but you almost put yourself at risk at the side of the motorway, I'd have been inclined to call the Police 'on the move' as it were....mind you you'd probably get fined for using your phone then

I have communicated with HA myself as some of the workers we employ pretend they get stuck in traffic to justify their late arrival to jobs.....the HA can confirm back if there were any delays at the time in question and to be fair have been brilliant in that respect.
