I think the people at the top of my street removed theirs about 8 years ago... Vosa have been spotted in the area and an incident with a yellow triangle and a disk cutter was once seen.

I just paid for my tax at dinner time, but it feels a bit unusual just having the one disk in the windscreen instead of two (we have to display the MOT here), so i filled the empty tax disk holder:

Now that it isn't a legal requirement to show a valid tax disc,
is it a legal requirement not to show an invalid tax disc?

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Although I've renewed for the year today I'm going to leave the old disc in for an advanced reminder to myself for next year for when it's due.

Trouble is with all the vehicles I've got to tax I'd rather be able to try and budget further ahead of time rather than the 2-3 weeks they remind of.

I've always just waited for a reminder then just gone in post office
A week or so before it 'runs out.
I'm just hoping they still send out reminders as mentioned on the WWW.
Or will more than likely forget..

Isee your point tho. 8)

Took the disc out of the wife's car yesterday because it expired at midnight anyway. I'll probably take mine out next time I clean the car, which by recent evidence might be somewhere around 2016
