Got the Saturday off work to spend some much loved time with my 2 frenchies, my 92 clio valver and my mighty 406 estate.
Moved my Clio to its new resting place and after that got my glad rags on and gave the 406 a service it's been shouting for for the past 100 miles.
Whilst servicing the 406 I decided it was time to take the egr off and blank it off.
Brought the car off the ramps to catch bumper on ramps and damaged that...-.-
Wasn't pleased. Put fresh oil in and took egr off to find the plate I have only blanks 1 side and not both due to different shape. So cleaned up egr and fitted back on.
Took for a drive and was absolutely flat, no power at all so I thought egr valve maybe causing problems. Engine light came on and car broke down as I was on way home at 9.30 pm with the girlfriend and take away on board. So pizza and chips In the 406 while waiting recovery. Finally arrived and checked everything over. All was in order and dials read 1/4 of tank. So AA put some diesel in and she fired up. Brilliant, my new dials with 5 dials on fuel gauge not working correctly, back in with old dials.
Went to footy today and engine still flat. Phoned my cousin who knows a lot about hdi engines and told him I'm on tops of 1 psi in boost, he tells me to unplug solenoids and switch plugs around, boost fixed! Now powers up like never before!!
Now my bloody alarm siren keeps randomly going off even when unlocked and driving so now just locking with key to keep it quiet
My weekend has just been action packed with this car.........but I love it to bits [emoji16]

It looks like to me the car was angry for lack of service
