Removing a door from a pug 406 Coupe

Post by Nathc2 »

Is there any posts on here that show you how to do it? Also the wiring loom that goes into the door does that need to come out to be sold with the door or does that stay as part of the car?

Any help would be great

Only changed one door on a Coupe and found that the wiring has to stay car side! Couldn't find any sort of connector hidden in the A pillar (or anywhere else) that would allow the door to come off complete with it's loom. Seems an odd way to assemble a door though.
That's a pain as it means you have to remove the vapour barrier (virtually destroying it in the process) to get to all the connectors in there......

Later saloons & estates have a connector, not sure about the coupe but it must be worth a heck.

All I noticed when taking the door off that there was a connector block inside the door but when I looked inside the car it just went to the loom no connector whatsoever. So I assumed id be fine just snipping the wires off from the door as if someone wanted the door they would have their loom inside the car ready to plug in.

Thats a good video, rovers have some very good instructional videos that were meant for dealer mechanics but have now ended up on youtube. They are good to see the special tools used for the jobs, that device that holds the door is very handy.
