After many years its time to say goodbye to my 406 exec , But, I will be replacing her with another low millage diesel estate. The question is, will there be anything I could swap from this one to the new one? seats, stereo, climate etc.

Old car 2001 (d9) petrol, saloon, executive, leather, jbl stero.
new car 2003 (d9) diesel, estate, LX

Seats? front will fit..but not rear's.


selling it on as a full car,might be your best option,rather than breaking it up.

Thanks for the quick reply. Didn't think I could. As for selling it on, probably cost more to advertise than I could get for it, No MOT, speedo not working, rear disks/pads need doing, etc.

Do you mean 406? The Clarion RD3 units in the D9 406s can be recoded using PP2000 to the new car's VIN.

Hi mate, I'm doing the same but executive estate to GLX estate.
I've done the complete interior including the black lower dash panels. The sun visors with the lights are a straight fit, as are the alloys. Your door cards will fit too.
Are the engines the same?

I'd be looking to replace the entire interior loom and basically turning the LX into an exec!

Before you scrap it, can you please remove the heated seat switches from the console between the 2 front seats for a fellow member?
There are quite good parts on the exec, maybe sell a few parts off It first?

unfotunatly I havnt got the room to start stripping it down or I would. Maybe a forum member can buy it of me and strip it themselves

Dont know, but a quick What Car valuation in poor condition I.e no MOT gives a trade price of £506, so I dont think asking £400 is excessive, but like I said I dont know.
