Working Day...

Post by niz406 »

So here I am sat at work, wondering what the hell I'm doing with my life and where this current job is going to take me.... and I can honestly say NO WHERE!

My fellow colleague who started around the same time as me, has already been over to the states for 2 weeks on training, I have not.. everything that needs to be done is passed through him first, unless its something he cannot do.. i.e. development work, then its my job... but on that note, he has been asked to go to Austrailia for a week to do some training on our system hardware / software and support.

Why wasn't I asked, why am I always second choice, do you think its because I'm already involved in two projects or could it be something more sinister?

Where do you guys fit in at work and where would you like to go in your chosen profession?

I really want to do internet related stuff, from web design / development to hosting solutions, the full package... a complete consultancy for all IT needs... but hey thats just a pipe dream and I can't skate ! lol

Yes its a little boring this time of day in the office, sat here all alone with no friends and oh wait I have a phone ! :D

i know how you feel, im in a similar situation at work as you already know, as it is, my life is going nowhere for the next 3 and a bit years, then i will become a master tech. but im not sure i can stand that long with the people i work with and on the minimum wage, but if i do give it up ill end up probably doing a something else which requires no skill, which i wouldnt mind, but i will probably end up at a dead end again, but thinking about it repairing cars is become such a dead end job too, there is just no skill in it at all, its basically just common sense and trying to remember how to put things back together :?
if i stay in my proffesion i would love, at some point, to work at the BMW motorsport factory in germany building the M-series cars, but i know for a fact that will never happen, but i can wish :D

Dude,

You could so finish your course and then go to uni to do a motorsport HND or stay an extra year and make a degree out of it, no need for GCSE's you can do a foundation degree first which is a year long.... or 2 years part time, so you could do your current training / job and then do that as well in the evenings.... we have people from our university working for ProDrive, Williams F1, etc... so there's no reason why you couldn't be one of those people ! :D

I could cheerfully get violent with 'motivational' people like that (even though they're f*cking right as usual)

Tell them to check this site! The amount of cars we've seen you diagnose and all but fix on here without even seeing the damn things is bloody impressive! :)

there will be a special on pollen filters other "forgotten to fit parts"

on a more serious note though, i didnt get anywhere with the other job as they couldnt give a f*ck what my dad said, the fact i had never had any true experience with peugeot's before put them off completley
