Most of them have a template you fill in wiv your reg. no. and any other bits you want to add. Tricky to do over the phone.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I used to know someone who had 4 KOF (and 4 COF) The plates were worth more than the car and he was petrified of someone stealing the car as if it wasn't recovered he would lose the plates.

carry on.

not true at all,

if a car is stolen and reported to the police, insurance pays ut etc then you have a certain period of time (3 months I think) to place that number on retention.

the only way you loose a plate is if you sell a car with it on, then the deed of ownership moves to the new owner or if it runs out f MOT as you need a valid MOT in place too retain / transfer it

I just go in to the next office at work and make my own up, remove any of the stuff I dont want on it as I had all the bits your supposed to have on there.

I can't understand whats wrong with driving to your LMF and saying I need replacement number plates for the car outside?
They could then check the actual car/VIN if needed and knock a new set up.
They could even have the old tatty ones if they were concerned about some sort of fraud.
