Re: FAP
EDIT: Thought you said what are they, not where are they
An FAP (filtre à particules) is the French lingo for DPF (diesel particulate filter). On 406's, it is predominately fitted to the 2.2's , but a few were fitted to 2.0's (mostly the 110, but Bailes had one on his 90 (which was an odd car)). Most people on here just gut them and remap the ECU to remove the DPF section as its much cheaper both short and long term to remove it rather than replace it! The extra exhaust flow will help with power and torque too, as well as allowing the turbo to spool up quicker as there is less back pressure on the turbine.

Re: FAP
The only 2.0HDi that anyone knows about with a FAP was my old Siemens HDi90.
Like FT says though, it was a very odd car indeed.
Purchased by my Uncle at 6 months old with 20k on the clock. It had FIVE previous owners all either main dealers or "Peugeot UK".
It was supposed to be a rapier but it had some strange specifications.
Always thought it was some sort of test bed or training vehicle for Peugeot.
