There's some info on the coupé club website - http://www.406coupeclub.org/Coupe_Specifications.asp#SB

Nautilus wheels (I'm sorry but they're horrible) - check
Different badge - check
Plastic imitation black ash trim - check
Black wing mirrors - check
Aluminium effect door handles - check

Late registration madness perhaps?

OHHHH, sliver and black I get it

Not sure about that model, looks a bit half-arsed and a bit desperate to shift the last few models which farted off the production line before the much* improved* 407 Coupe arrived.

It's in that Coupe Club link - summer 2002, based on the S trim level, 407 rhd S&B's built, both 2.2 diesels and 2.2 petrols, of which 75 were black and 75 silver, So it's actually quite rare (if it's real)

Hmm, I've not posted many of these in a while, mainly because ebay is sending me loads as lots of idjuts can't be bothered to add in the zeros, so a 250,000 miler will come to me with the 250 miles flagged up  and I can't be bothered to sift through all the junk.

Anyroads, another 1.8 saloon, 2002 in saliva, 44,750 miles (allegedly)

Exceptional mileage, looks nice although its suffered the usual bonnet edge rust. My lowest mileage one was 150k, the last one I bought, that is an 02 estate, I paid £350 for that and its just past its MOT.

The problem with anything registered before March 01 is the extra road tax but for anyone that wants to restore it an ideal candidate. Anyone on here buy it?

The 406 is one of the few cars I know that doesn't suffer with headlight fading from UV rays. I wonder how they managed to escape the phenom phonem nom nom.... problem that affects so many other makes.

As you were...

Nah, they're plastic. I read this problem on the early RAVs was caused by some sort of coating on the lens (maybe UV protection? Or a scam to sell more headlights...)

Strange isn't it, I've never seen a discoloured 406 headlight, but my daughter's 307 looks like someone's emulsioned the inside of the lenses.

I have concluded God doesn't like 307's.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

More than that even, my 406s have the best headlights on any car that I have ever had, not only are they brighter than most, largely due to good electrics but the light distribution is spot on, and they have the internal height adjustment which always works, at least the estate does.
