Pretty sure you could buy a cheap trolley jack, some stands and a generic wind back tool plus discs and pads for just over the £100 mark.
IIRC my aldi jack cost about £20 (always use stands so wasn't bothered about an expensive jack), Halfords ratchet stands were about £25. Don't own a wind back tool but ECP has them for just over a fiver when it's time to do the rear brakes on the Megane.

I tend to way up the cost of any specialist tooling required for a job, if I can do it for the same or less then I do. Next time you do the job its parts only.
I even make a few quid of work colleagues with spanner alergies doing the odd basic service/disc and pad changes which pretty much makes my own jobs gratis :cheesy:

Welly, If you can get the car over here to sunny Lancashire I will do the job for you @ £60 including new discs and pads (Mintex) and a drink for me :cheesy:

Cheers for the kind offers/encouragement, I fear jasper's might be too far away to be economical?

I might have a go myself, I've done it in the past so WCPGW? :o

Besides changing tyres, there is nowt I'd take my car to a garage for. I enjoy doing the work/learning, there is also feck all on TV so I'd rather be out tinkering.
