c4 grand picasso

Post by john170277 »

Been looking on autotrader for a 7 seated came across a grand Picasso hdi 140 auto clutch manual for £1000 or Maybe a bit less
the advert says gearbox intermitant fault it loses power now could this be a simple gearbox fluid and filter change or ecu
It,s in top spec with a few cosmetic issues at that price it may be worth a gamble

Most autobox faults can be reified by flushing the old oil out, fitting a new filter and cleaning the sump.

My girlfriend had a '98 Clio back in 2010 that would go into limp mode and lock itself in 3rd gear.
I dropped the sump, cleaned it out and replaced the filter. I think we then drained and refilled the box 3 or 4 times to ensure all the old oil had been flushed out of the torque converter. It was like a new gearbox after that.

I'd leave it where it is mate.
Chances are...the seller as already had it looked at and ..its megga costly repair bill.
So they palming it off on someone..
If it was an easy fix they wouldn't be selling it.

You couid end up opening Pandora's box..

The best 7 seater I've had was the galaxy.
Paid a lot for mine .(back then)
They seem to be going for peanuts these days.

How about a 7 seat 406 estate, the back seats are small and rear facing but they are a brilliant car - last forever.

If you can't find a 7 seat 406, just buy a normal estate & do the conversion. If you don't fancy that, you can easily pick up a diesel Zafira & £1500 should still get a nice one.
