How's your Friday 13th going?

Post by Doggy »

Yesterday I was dismissive of the whole notion of it being unlucky, however...

I forgot to set my alarm clock & phone last night, so instead of gentle wake up prompts as 6:00 & 6:03 as planned, Mrs Doggy bellowed in my ear that it was 7:00.

From then on things have got steadily worse. :(
Front door wouldn't open as the bolt fell apart and once I got to work there was a catalogue of current and overnight problems to contend with.
I will keep my big mouth shut in future.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Is it Friday already? :P

T'wife starts her part-time job tonight, teaching Spanish evening classes at the local council-run Senter for Kutcher. It's not like she needs the money or anything, they just couldn't find anyone else. It's where she used to work, where the woman now in charge was promoted over her head (unqualified for the post too, but not everyone's nephew is the mayor  ) made her life a misery and forced her to quit. I hope she's not going to tell her to poke it too quickly...

Well, I guess I can stop taking the piss now. For the last couple of weeks my mate Max, who had a heart attack about a month ago, has been looking after his sister down by the seaside but he came back this evening. The last couple of times I spoke to him he sounded rather drugged (heart meds) but I got to the station this evening to find him making no sense whatsoever and in police custody. Apparently he attacked a vicar (what the actual?) I really think he's had some sort of weird reaction to the drugs, although the police just decided he was drunk. The idiot had actually had a couple of brandies but didn't reek of it or anything. The vicar, who was still there being interviewed, seemed fine. When I got Max away from the fuzz I took him straight to A&E where he checked out fine. He also got a bit more lucid there, apart from whizzing up and down the corridor on a wheelchair. Oh and he got tangled up in his t-shirt trying to take it off for the ECG. I tried to get him to come back here for the night so we could keep an eye on him but he insisted on going home and there was no way I wanted to spend the night there on a two seater sofa. Tomorrow if he's still about I guess we'd better see what's going on with his meds.

The wife's new job went fine btw. I still can't understand why she wants to do that but, whatever.

Sounds like you've got your hands full there.

Meanwhile, It's Mrs Doggy's something-0th birthday tomorrow and the family management team have determined we will make the most of Sunday's promised sunshine by holding an extended family bash in the garden. Oh & I will cook a choice of 3 menus for our fashionably foodstuff intolerant guests.....

Just off to Tesco, Asda, Aldi et al,

And today I woke up with a splitting headache (stress?), took some pills and went back to bed, surfacing about 20 minutes ago after wasting most of the day. I've called Max, he still sounds like an astronaut, but I have some vitals to take him so I'll see how he is in person soon.
