wheel tracking
I have today booked my car into a peugeot dealer for the tracking to be done on saturday, it's going to cost £50 + vat, can anyone tell me if there is any reason why after this is done if the steering wheel will not be straight as is it is then a car comes out of the factory. Has anyone else had a peugeot dealer adjust the tracking and will they give me a computer printout of how much the alignment was out. I had been to kwikfit who simply made a mess of it and i want to go back to kwikfit with evidence that it is has been sorted in hope to get a refund from them.

I'd be careful here. Once you've been to Peugeot then Kwikfit could simply say that the tracking must have been 'knocked' out of alignment since they set it up.
Am I right in thinking that kwikfit set up the tracking but now the car does not feel right? this can be due to the previously worn tyres now sitting slightly different on the road surface.
I would take up your complaint with kwik fit really.
It's quiet difficult sometimes but I have learnt to be come a right awkward bastard with these places. I recently had a tyre fitted and the tyre monkey fitted massive balancing weights on the rims. As soon as I spotted them I went to his gaffer and said I would not accept them and wanted it sorting with stick on weights on the inside rim BEFORE I leave left the premisses.
You should have seen them all, they started rushing around to sort it quick but I thought f*ck it I'm paying here and want it doing right.

i had the car serviced a month ago but it was after the car came out of the gaarge i new the steering bad somehow been knocked out, one of the rear suspension arm rods was replaced and i thought this maybe had something to do with it, but the garage said they do not have the equipment to do tracking, so i went to kwikit for them to adjust the tracking back to how it should be. (they were not changing any tyres etc) it was only on the ramps for the tracking and 4 times they cannot get it right, but i have since found out it requires lasers to do the job, and another kwikfit brach also told me this, so why are kwikfit happy to waist my time doing something there are not equiped or trained to do, they should simply have said that they cannot do the work and refered my to another branch who can do the work.I have put a complaint into there head office.Welton wrote:I'd be careful here.
