New clutch fitted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by trem1 »

well i was of work last week and while out and about i thought i noticed a bit of clutch slip whilst changing down from 6th to 5th and flooring it  my first thought was is it me ? did i have my foot on the pedal(very unusual if it had been but doubt is a curious thing) so after that i was trying to make it happen again and bugga me if coming out of roadworks on the a1 it did       this was sunday afternoon so i couldnt do nowt then    but monday morning i was on the phone at 9am sharp 8)
whats the problem the twelve year old girl asked :?: clutch slipping i said, she said "are you sure" which got my back up to say the least which set me onto rant mode :!: of course i'm sure i've been a van driver for 17 years i think i know what a slipping cluch feels like besides its easy when the rev-counter goes up but the road speed doesnt  rant went on for only about a minute before she booked it in :frown:
so i dropped it off at 6pm monday night  and got a phone call today ( wednesday) saying your cars ready sir :D
what was the problem i asked :?: didnt deem to know but i then said what was replaced and the answer was the clutch 8) 8) and the best bit was NO charge : :D :D :D :D :D

so it seems i've had a new clutch fitted while under warranty again cos i seem to remember a small matter of clutch judder on my 406 when i bought that :D :D : all from the same dealer as well   bet they wont be happy to see me again

Hmmm i wonder if its a common problem on the 407??

Most stuff like clutch's, brake pad's, disc's etc don't come under warrenty. Garages kick off saying thats its fair ware and tear and its not covered. You were lucky, your rant must of worked wonders :cheesy:

My clutch continues to degrade.

Still no hope in sight for repairing it. Unless a miracle happens.

i have to say i was being really picky and i wasnt 100% certain it slipped but you've got to try these things and if it works great stuff if not theres nowt lost is there 8)

in answer to some of the questions

captain jack: its done 38,000 miles 8)

TooT: yeah i know about wear and tear but one of the benefits of buying from a main dealer when you've only had the car a couple of months mean it was already badly worn when you got it OR you've let geordieboy near it :cheesy: :cheesy:

geordieboy:yes i have let kev have a shot but i was beside him ( i'm not that stupid) 8)

captain jack again: i wont be even going through any large puddles in this let alone a ford

UPDATE!!!!!!!
well they fitted a new clutch last week, i picked the car up thursday tea-time and the pedal didnt feel right but i thought it was only me so i said nowt. got the car out friday tea-time to go to asda for essential supplies(beer) on first press of the pedal there was nothing there so i pumped the pedal a few times and hey presto a clutch pedal, well 9am saturday i was back to the stealers who tried saying it was just me, which i expected so into rant mode i went about it being worse than before but i was getting nowhere until i threw a comet bag on the counter stating that if they must use customers cars to go shopping it would be a very good idea to take the shopping out(it helped amazingly that) so its been in and now had a new clutch slave cylinder, new fluid and obviously bled. so now its working as it should :D :D :D

Nice one Tremmy.... :cheesy:

I think the British are generally far too soft as consumers, it's about time we started doing a bit more of this, the customer is always right (except for when they're talking total bolox  ).

The Cheeky B******S I would slapped the manager for a free service or a tank of juice for the extra miles they'd put on the clock.
