Stingy garages

Post by Eric »

Phoned the garage to check the car was ready for Sunday.
He replaced the battery in the keyfob then took it to a stealer to get it recoded so no more immobiliser light.
Yay!!

The car hasn't got tax (We really should have checked that  )
And when I asked for a tank of diesel to get back to Bristol he told me there was a garage round the corner.
Boooo :(

Question is do I have to wait until I've sent of the V5 and am the registered keeper before I can apply for tax online?

I'll change the insurance before I leave the garage but the tax thing sucks a bit :(

Still excited to get the new car!

And I hope the recoding cost him!
:P

Can you not pick it up tomorrow morning (when the post office is open?). Mind you saying that you'll need to get a cover note before you can do that.... :?

Can the Garage tax it for you? Obviously you'll reimburse him :cheesy:

I can't pick the car up or tax it till I have the money from mine.
The guy who's buying mine is coming from Manchester to collect the car tomorrow so won't be here till afternoon time which won't give us time tomorrow to get to Wales and pick up the new car - So it'll have to be Sunday.... And I won't have a cover note in time either.

Guess I better hope that I don't go through any tax cameras or have too many police following me with PNC

I guess if I do run into a PNC Police car I can explain to them and hope I just get a 7 day wonder

Hey, at least you intend to tax it as soon as possible, that's gotta account for something right?

The tax is in the post special

At least once I apply for it online it will update the DVLA database so I'm safe then.

Dude, ring the garage and ask him if he can stick 6 mths tax on it using his traders insurance, then pay him back when you pick it up. Might work? :?

You knows it makes sense clart

Hmmmm...
Tbh the less I phone him the better, don't really like the guy and if he won't give me a drop of diesel to get home then I doubt he'll be helpful for anything else either :(

Ah sod it, I'll just run the gauntlet for a few days till I can do it online

Friday is Chav day round here, well it is for me anyway.

TBH it's only really me a Niz that play - we are looking for more though. Just a bit of fun really, I mean "jus messin wiv me m8's lol".

Be careful though not to confuse chavvy text speak with Ali G type speak, this is when it all goes wrong IMO.....

eg.

" me m8's wuz all at maccy d's wen dave dun a wikkid drift lyke da playstayshun fing lol"

Rather than......

" yo yo dave done a wicked slide man in da maccy dee car park aiiiight bo bo yo yo etc etc"
