..... a hire car :arrowd:

Image

This is what my insurance company have given me to replace my 6 while its getting fixed

WTF. I though it should be like for like, but apparently Direct Line only pay for you to have the cheapest car possible. In my mind thats fookin stupid what if i had a family with kids like a lot of people who drive a 406 or any other family car for that matter? A Ford KrAp wont do the job will it?

Never mind, with it being a hire car i will still be trying to set a new land speed record :cheesy:

I just knew it was going to be a hire car!!

Tell you what though, I had a Ka for 2 days when mine was having an after-repair job and they are immense fun. Quite fast and really chuckable.

Enjoy lead foot driving while you can (mine turned out to be quite uneconomical, but that's just how I drove it)

Friends sister has one and lives out in the country - Hit a wombat (Australian Fauna) at 80mph and allmost wrote the bloody thing off. We call it the "snotball" because its this foul lime green colour. Only been a passenger in it once - seemed pretty slow to me and I got stuck in the back seat...not a good combination when you are 6'2!

It's done well over 120,000miles now....Can't kill em I reckon! Would be fun with a 1.6 Focus motor in it :P

There aren't many of them in this part of the world, they were hella expensive when released compared to the Barina (Corsa) and the Echo (Yaris) for what you got!

Have fun with it :cheesy:

A friend of mine had one and it was a bit sh*t really.
But with a wheel at each corner and light weight they are a hoon round the twisties when properly abused!

Very basic and spartan trim though so I thought it felt as cheap as it was.

My mum's got a Ka3 'Collection' I'm in it today actually :cheesy:

It's the old 1.3 kent engine which has been horribly strangled to death for emissons etc. and should have a red line of 3000 rpm IMO

They have nice clutches and boxes (for the first 30,000 miles) which make for really speedy gear shifts.

I love driving it and it's great for 'nipping' around and diving in and out of cars parks (in a girly sort of way). The handbrake is spot on for some wet slides too

The biggest problem is the brakes, it's like pushing your foot on a wooden block, you press on a bit - nothing - nothing nothing, a bit more - OMG through the screen we go

Dissagree with you on the handling there eric. I dont like it, feels weird, maybe its the skinny tyres and wet roads but still im not very confident throwing into a corner or roundabout at any decent speed which brings me to the brakes and im with welton on this. These are just plain scary im sure it will stop quicker if i opened the door and stuck my foot out.

This black pile is a Ka Studio which is equiped with exactly nothing. No central locking no electric windows no power steering. ffs its like im driving my first car again an 88E fiesta.

My 6 should be back on monday, whooppeee :P

It depends where you go with insurance companie sthe courtesy car is usually a little car like a corsa or KA but if you go through your legal cover you can usually get a similar sized vehicle
